Country 23. Ethiopia

The Horn - Collingwood


Dips: hommus & tahini with awazey(chilli) dips, served with pide bread
Zil Zil: chicken breast strips, marinated in berbere, crumbed & dipped in white sesame seeds, served with Ethiopian salsa

Keysirr Wot: beetroot, carrot, potato & spinach, cooked with red onion, garlic & traditional herbs & spices
Difin Missar: black lentil cooked with onion, garlic, green chilli & herbs
Veggie Alecha: potatoes, carrot & spinach, cooked with tumeric, garlic, red onion & traditional spices
Doro Wot: chicken cooked in a rich red onion sauce, with ginger, tomato, garlic, traditional spices & boiled eggs, served with yoghurt
Fiyel Wot: goat stewed with red onion, garlic & berbere and chef's family's traditional seasoning
Doo Ba Wot: Beef & pumpkin stew, cooked with traditional spices, red onion & garlic

All mains served together with a salad in a large dish, layered with injera

Ethiopian Donuts: cinnamon, pine nuts & sultanas, caramelised in lemon juice, shallow fried in donut batter, served with ice-cream & maple syrup

The food was delicious, without being too spicy!
